9/2 (Every Monday): Veterans Treatment Court, Missoula County Courthouse (3rd Floor), 200 W. Broadway, Missoula, 2pm

The PUBLIC IS WELCOME! The program is for Veterans charged with a crime who have serious treatment issues that contributed to their involvement in the criminal justice system and are most often related to their military experience. The Missoula Veterans Court accepts Veterans regardless of discharge (misdemeanors, felony, violent). Most Veterans are receiving counseling at Vet Center or CBOC and have a mentor. Usually they cannot get expungements of old crimes, but they may be able to get a sentence reduced during the probationary period if they go through the yearlong program.

· Interested in being a mentor? Mentors are Veterans who served in the military that are willing to spend time helping a fellow Veteran as a “trusted friend.” The mentor attends court appearances with the participant, meets with their Veteran at least once a week, and helps their participant deal with the rigors of the treatment program by getting them hooked up with supportive services (housing, employment, etc.).
