Are you looking for a lazy way to cool down during these hotsummer days? If so, this sparkling soft drink recipe made of red berries syrup is just perfect for you because it’s simple and takes at most 5 minutes to prepare.
While the syrup is hot, you can serve the drink right away, because ice cubes and sparkling mineral water will cool it down immediately. With the heat of recent days, this fizzy drink is so perfect!
For a 10 fl ozglass (30 cl):
- 2 ounces (60g) of a frozen berries mix
- 2 coffee spoons sugar
- 1/2 lemon
- Mint leaves
- 1/2 csp of vanilla extract
- Sparkling mineral water
- Ice cubes
You can use a mixture of fresh berries as well but generally frozen berries are less expensive — and available all year long!
1 – Pour the fruit into a saucepan with sugar, lemon juice, mint and vanilla.
2 – Put in on low heat until the fruit begin to lose its juice.
3 – Filter by crushing the fruit to collect as much juice as possible.
4 – Pour the juice into a glass and add sparkling mineral water. Add the ice cubes.
5 – Serve immediately.
