Chapter Text
It had been a little over two weeks, since Chris and I broke up.
Everyone knew now and things had kinda calmed down.
We had also gotten to the point, where we could be in the same room, without it being weird.
I was going over to their apartment, because we were making gingerbread houses.
This had been a plan, before Chris and I broke up, but we still agreed to do it.
As we were setting up the things, I could tell it clicked for Nick too “Uhm how about me and Nessa, Sab and Chris and Matt and Luna” he said and everyone was happy with that.
He set up the camera and they said the intro and explained what we were doing. “Oh, so it’s a competition?” I asked.
“Of course” Nick said “Alright, then we’re winning” i said and looked at Matt, who immediately agreed “Yea”
They set the timer. Matt and I worked so well together, as a team.
Though i did notice, that we were both slightly shaky and nervous
A couple of times, our hands kinda touched and we were both being babies.
I was just nervous, because the camera was on.
Larray and Arrington came over at the end, to watch us.
We were putting the final touches on it and I went to cut a gummy and accidentally cut my finger slightly.
“Fuck!” I said and immediately went to the sink “Nick pause the timer” Matt said quickly, following me.
“Are you okay? How bad is it?” He asked, so concerned and it was the sweetest thing “It’s tiny, just a lot of blood, but I’m fine.” I chuckled “You sure? Let me get you a bandaid” he went to the drawer and I looked up locking eyes with Sabrina, who smiled knowingly.
“Here” he held my finger and very carefully wrapped it up “Alright are we good again?” Nick asked “Yea” we went back to our table. Ours was perfect, compared to the others.
But I was kinda shaking, putting the last piece on and made a couple gummies fall in one corner “Shit i’m sorry” I quickly looked up at Matt
“No, that's okay, we’ll just say there was a storm. It still looks great don’t worry about it” he smiled putting a hand on my shoulder.
Sabrina slightly gasped, making us look over “What?”
“Time!” Nick said and we all stepped back.
Larray and Arrington were our judges.
“Good effort all of you” Larray said all dramatic “But I am gonna have to give it to Matt and Luna, since theirs is the only one I'd personally live in” he chuckled “Noo!” Nick and Nessa were so disappointed.
“Yay!” I was so excited, I just jumped and hugged Matt.
He chuckled, hugging me back.
And then we double high fived.
Larray point of view:
After we ended the video I pulled Sabrina aside “Tell me right now why you gasped, because I think we saw the same thing” I told her, as we walked down the little hallway.
“Matt is totally in love with her” she said excitedly “Omg yeah i think so too!. And she definitely has something for him as well. The other day in the car he had a panic attack and she like calmed him down so quickly” i told her.
“Omg? But I’ve noticed the way he looks at her. Even more since she broke up with Chris. I kinda feel bad for him” she said “He has literal heart eyes at her, it’s adorable. But it’ll try to discreetly ask her about it”
Later we were having food and I took Luna out on the balcony. “So what’s with you and Matt” I asked, watching her almost choke on her pizza.
“What?” She asked “I feel like there’s a vibe” I told her “No. Definitely not. I mean yeah we like almost had a thing back home. But we’re just friends. We talked about it a while ago” she explained “You sure?” I asked.
“Yeah, he for sure does not like me like that, I’m pretty sure he has a crush on that Julia girl” she chuckled “Sure” i said not believing her.
“And even if there was something, Chris and I broke up not even a month ago. So just no” she said “alright i was just curious”
Luna point of view::
I was hanging out with Nick and he was just getting something in his room.
I ran into Matt coming out of his room “Oh Lu i wanna show you something” he said stopping me in my tracks “Okay?” I smiled.
He pulled out his phone and showed me an article and my heart dropped, as I scanned the page. They had arrested the guy that assaulted me.
“They got him. He’s getting at least 7 years” Matt said, so excited. And I had just teared up, feeling such relief wash over me “They got him..?” I asked, looking up at him.
“Yeah” he smiled and pulled me into his arms “I'm so glad he’ll never get to hurt anyone else..” I mumbled, into his shoulder.
He rubbed my back, holding the back of my head. “I know…” he said “Thank you for showing me..” i said, just kinda clinging onto him.
Nick walked down “Why are we hugging?” He asked and Matt showed him the phone “Oh Lu..” I went from Matt's arms to Nick's and he also held me so tight.
I feel like I accidentally trauma bonded with Matt that night. Of course we’d always been really close.
But seeing how quickly he was there for me, just showed me a whole new side of him.
Nick kissed the top of my head “Let’s go get celebratory froyo” he said and i lit up “Omg yes”
I sat down to watch the gingerbread house video. I was mostly prepared for hate on me in the comments and stuff, but I was just slightly confused.
Throughout almost the whole video, whenever Matt and I would laugh or something Chris would look over at us. And the way he looked so hurt, but also happy for me at the same time.
The comments knew too “Are we sure they broke up?”
“Damn I want someone to look at me like that”
And then of course there was the other side “I kinda ship Luna and Matt. Look how cute they are”
“Seeing how protective Matt is of Luna, makes me wanna cry”
“Did you see how he comforted her? Goals”
I was incredibly torn. I felt guilty for Chris, but also confused because the thought of Matt like that, hadn’t been on my mind for a very long time.

We were going to a party. And honestly I was so excited.
This was my first single party in a while. I had all my options open, but then again I didn’t actually want some random guy right now.
I just went to have fun with the girls.
It was so fun and I even got a little drunk.
Sabrina and I were running around but then I paused. “What?” She asked, as I had kinda frozen in place.
In a corner by the pool, Chris was sitting with some blonde girl and they were kissing. My stomach dropped.
Oh.
He pulled back and of course saw me looking “C'mon let’s get you a drink” Sabrina quickly pulled me back inside “Actually I don’t need a drink” I let go of her hand and walked straight up to Bryce.
“Hi” he smirked, as I walked over “Hi” I said and Josh looked so surprised “This jacket looks good on you..” I said, fixing his collar “Yea?” He asked.
It took about 3 minutes and then he kissed me. I wasn’t sure if I actually wanted to, I just wanted to be equal.
Many drinks later, Sabrina was throwing up in a bush.
We went a bit outside and then Nick and Matt came over “Nick can i talk to you..?” I asked him “I can take over” Matt smiled and went to hold Sabrina’s hair.
I went away with Nick “Am i an awful person?” I asked him “No of course not, why would you think that?” He asked “Because I just made out with Bryce” I said.
“What?! Sorry” he lowered his voice “I saw Chris making out with some blonde girl and I knew Bryce liked me so..” i sighed.
“You’re not an awful person. You are going through a breakup. This is pretty standard behavior” he chuckled, but hugged me, ‘cause he could tell i was going through it.
Matt point of view::
“So when are you gonna tell Luna that you’re in love with her?” Sabrina asked me. I felt my heart in my throat.
“You’re very drunk, here” I handed her some water. She drank it
“And? It’s obvious Matt…how long?” She asked and for some reason I couldn't bring myself to lie “I'm not sure I ever stopped..” I sighed.
“But you can’t tell her. Or anyone, please” i said and she nodded “Of course not, just wanted you to confess” she laughed “Not funny”
“Kinda is” she smiled “But if you wanna play hero or something now is the time. We just saw Chris making out with someone earlier” she said and i immediately looked up at Luna. She was clearly upset talking to Nick and he hugged her.
“Really?” I said, feeling so bad for her “Yeah ,well she went right over and made out with Bryce, still low blow from Chris” she chuckled “Yea..” I said, feeling oddly jealous.
“C’mon” i got her up and we went to the car, where Nick and Luna were standing “Let’s get Sabrina home, she’s sleeping at yours i'm assuming?” I asked Luna.
“Yea, how are you feeling babes?” She asked Sabrina “Oh i’m great” Sabrina smiled, then winked at me.
“Should we wait for Chris?” I asked Nick “No” he said immediately
“He’s busy with some blonde, I think we’re good” Luna said and just got in the car.
I felt bad for her, but at the same time, I found myself smiling.
