Chapter Text
Percy had known he wouldn't get a good job at the Aquarium but he was ready to start working his way up the ranks while in school. Sure he'd have to live with Sally and Paul while he was in college but he was sure that they wouldn't mind. He could babysit and help out.
"Oca." Estelle said pointing at an orca that was being lowered into an outside tank. "Oca. Pengin." she named every fish she knew and pointed at them.
Percy praised her and cooed over her but frowned at the orca.
"Hey, your orca is going into labor." Percy told the Aquarium director.
"It's a male...."
"No, it isn't." Percy scoffed pointing. "See the white pattern there near the genital slit? It's rounder and shorter than that of a male. She also has visible mammary slits which appear as black spots on both sides of the genital slit. You've got yourself a female that's about to give birth."
The director frowned.
"The paperwork said that this was an injured male orca in need of rehabilitation." he frowned. "GET THAT ORCA IN THE WATER! THE PAPERWORK LIED IT'S FEMALE AND ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH!"
Sally, Paul, and Estelle were transfixed with watching the orca give birth. But the whale was in distress. Percy climbed onto the safety area and talked to her trying to calm her, and yeah he used a bit of his power but it was good when it helped. Besides that power wasn't an obvious one it was more of a mental one that Triton had been teaching him while he was in Atlantis. How to talk to and calm sea creatures with his mind. He was getting better at it. He was gently and soothingly patting the orca as she gave birth. He praised her and fed her some fish. The baby began nursing. The team cheered as did Estelle.
The director let Estelle pet the baby when it surfaced. Estelle had loved it.
"What's your sister's name, kid?" the director asked.
"Estelle Blofis." Percy answered. "I'm Percy Jackson. I just started today. I'm going to college to become a Marine Biologist and I wanted to work here while I did."
"The baby what gender is it?"
Percy managed to check.
"Congratulations, Ma'am, you have a Son." he told her orca mother.
"We'll name this little guy Percy then because he wouldn't have been born without you here. She was in such distress she could have aborted it." the director informed.
"Oca. Percy?" Estelle asked. "Oca Percy!" she cheered.
Percy couldn't believe it. He told all of his friends, supporters, Triton, Amphitrite, and Poseidon that he'd help deliver a baby orca at the aquarium where he was now working and they'd named it after him.
Olympus
Poseidon laughed as got Percy's message. They were all still watching his son. He was so proud of him and Percy was so excited.
"I can't say he was wrong to use his powers in public because he had to...." Demeter hummed. "But when did he learn to speak telepathically to sea animals?"
"He spent four months in Atlantis, remember?" Poseidon chuckled. "Triton has been teaching him. Triton told him that every sea child should know how to do it and Percy was getting antsy. He was ready to destroy Atlantis if we didn't let him attend the birthday party. The two of them are actually getting along better these days."
Sally and Paul were so proud of Percy and told him so. They also rewarded him with a big dinner out. Percy would start school in two months and they were happy to have him back.
Percy cursed as Paul walked in on him "purging". The man held the vials and sealed them. He knew that he would have to explain his "purging" and knew that it would worry his mother.
"Purging what?" Sally demanded while Estelle was down for a nap.
"Poison from Tartarus." Percy sighed. "I'm using a power of mine called Toxikinesis which allows me to control and manipulate poison to "purge" my system of it and it's why I sleep in the water. Why dad took me to Atlantis. I'm 10% healed right now because I'm doing it this way. If I stop "purging" every day I'll eventually die. I don't want to die, mom."
She hugged him and looked so sad and worried.
He explained the screens to them and then his quest. Then he broke the big news.
"Zeus says that I'm being forced into Godhood. Not yet, he said that I have to meet requirements to get it. I told him I didn't want it but he said I don't have a choice. He didn't tell me what the requirements were. I guess I'll know when I meet them." Percy sighed. "I doubt that it'll be anytime soon but I thought you should know."
"You'll be a god?" Sally asked in shock.
"Yeah, don't know what of." Percy shrugged. "I'm guessing Heroes but I thought Hercules was the God of Strength and Heroes so I don't know."
"I turned them down once already. Zeus was not pleased." Thunder boomed outside. "Oh, shut up!" Percy bellowed as he looked up.
"Percy, quit making your uncle angry with you." Sally sighed shaking her head.
Percy shrugged.
"Dad told me when I first met him that my disobedient streak comes from him because "the sea doesn't like to be restrained"." he said randomly.
Sally and Paul both laughed and Percy was smiling softly.
Percy was thinking about wanting to move his family to Long Island. To Montauk but he knew that they didn't have the money. He sighed to himself as he stood on Long Island he wasn't sure that he wanted to go to Camp. He'd been told that everyone who had been against him had only been against him because of Annabeth who was still trying to convince everyone that Percy was guilty. He wondered why. He was getting close to Camp when Iron Man landed.
"Hey, kid what are you doing out here?" Tony Stark exited the suit.
"I have family that live out here." Percy explained.
"Percy!"
He turned just in time to catch Hazel. He hugged her.
"Hazel." he stumbled. "Hazel...." he was losing his balance.
They landed on the ground.
"HAZEL!" Nico bellowed running forward and helping her up with Jason and Thalia. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!"
Jason and Thalia helped Percy up.
"S-sorry, Percy." Hazel said with tears in her eyes. "I've been so worried!"
"It's okay, Nico, calm down." Percy told him. "It's fine, Hazel but I'm still rather weak. Let's try the hug again, yeah?"
Hazel beamed and they hugged.
Percy hugged Thalia next, then guy-hugged Jason and Nico.
"Mr. Stark, these are my cousins." Percy told the amused man. "You know Nico di Angelo, this is his sister Hazel Levesque, and then Thalia and Jason Grace. Guys, this is Tony Stark. I stayed at his tower when I was freed from the Pit."
The others greeted Tony who greeted them back. He said that he'd see Percy later and flew off.
They finally made it into the Camp.
"Prissy!"
Percy grunted as he was lifted off the ground with Clarisse hugging him. She set him down and released him. Percy was hugged by each of his supporters and welcomed to camp. Chiron shook his hand and Grover bawled while hanging off of him. Annabeth was glaring at him.
"Are you well enough to be here?" Clarisse demanded.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Percy nodded at her. "Are you visiting?"
"My last summer." Clarisse informed. "Had to have one last summer here. You're not here for the summer are you?"
"Oh, no. I'm not strong enough for that." Percy answered shaking his head. "I'm just visiting. I'd love to get in some training but none of my parents are going to allow it...."
"Nor will I!" Mr. D's voice called from the porch of the Big House. "You're here to visit, Perseus, not train."
"Yes, sir." Percy called back.
Percy was having fun catching up with all of his friends minus Annabeth. He apologized to Will for keeping Nico away from him for almost a month and explained his panic attacks. He told Will and Nico that he supported their relationship and wished them the best. Will seemed to relax at this and Nico gave him a warm smile. He found out that Hazel and Frank were dating, that Leo was dating Calypso, and that Piper was dating a girl named Shel who wasn't from their world. He looked at Jason who just shook his head.
"Oh, and Annabeth...." Piper spoke. "Annabeth is dating Raymond Son of Apollo....."
"Raymond?" Percy repeated. "I remember him he's our age. He came my second summer here."
"Yeah, him." Will said looking uncomfortable.
"If she didn't love me anymore than she could have just told me that and I would have let her go." Percy sighed. "Does it hurt? Yeah, like hell but it's been months. I'm getting over it. As long as she's happy then I'm happy for her."
"You are too kind." Thalia scoffed.
"I agree." Clarisse grunted.
Percy shrugged. What could he say? It did still hurt but he'd already assumed that she'd moved on. He couldn't believe that she didn't love him anymore. What had he done to make her not love him? Why had she believed the charges so readily? He didn't know and didn't understand. He was getting tired and felt weak. He put his legs in the lake and started feeling better.
